{"id":1416,"date":"2024-07-02T21:12:59","date_gmt":"2024-07-02T18:12:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pimarplastik.com\/urun\/pom-compounds\/"},"modified":"2025-02-04T02:33:01","modified_gmt":"2025-02-03T23:33:01","slug":"pom-compounds","status":"publish","type":"urunler","link":"https:\/\/www.pimarplastik.com\/en\/urun\/pom-compounds\/","title":{"rendered":"POM Compounds"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>POM, also known as acetal, polyacetal and polyformaldehyde, is an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts that require high rigidity, low friction and excellent dimensional stability.<\/p>\n\n<p>As a robust, solvent- and flame-resistant plastic, it is used in gears, housings, window guides, speaker grilles, zippers, lighters, aerosol valves, seat belts and furniture components.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>POM can be divided into two groups:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Homopolymer POM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copolymer POM<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p>If polymerized directly by starting from methanol, formaldehyde and POM homopolymer (e.g. Delrin) are formed. For the POM copolymer, formaldehyde is converted to trioxane and this is polymerized together with a co-monomer into a POM copolymer (e.g. Hostaform). <\/p>\n\n<p>POM homopolymer has a higher crystallinity compared to POM copolymer.<\/p>\n\n<p>On the other hand, the chemical resistance of the copolymer is higher.
